In The Netherlands all work equipment is subject to a maintenance obligation according to the Dutch ‘Arbeidsomstandighedenbesluit‘.
According to applicable working conditions legislation across Europe, employers are required to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This includes the obligation to maintain all work equipment in good condition. Employers must ensure that their work equipment is regularly inspected, maintained, and repaired as necessary to meet safety standards. These requirements are designed to prevent unnecessary risks to employees and to ensure overall safety and efficiency in the workplace.
According to Great Britain‘s “Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974” and the “Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998” (PUWER), there is an obligation to maintain all work equipment.
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSH Act) in the USA, the regulations set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the guidelines provided by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), there is an obligation to maintain all work equipment.
