Do you know which inspection obligations apply to your work equipment?
For The Netherlands you can read all about it on the Labour Inspectorate’s occupational health and safety portal of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
At Dutch workplaces, written evidence (article 7.4a, sixth paragraph) of performed inspections must be available. This allows the supervisory authority, the Labour Inspectorate, to verify compliance with the inspection obligations.
In other European countries, similar obligations exist but may be governed by different agencies or regulations. If you are operating in a specific European country, it’s important to consult that country’s national regulations and relevant authorities to ensure compliance with local inspection obligations.
In Great Britain, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulates workplace safety through PUWER and other regulations, requiring regular inspections and maintenance of work equipment, with written records necessary for compliance.
In the USA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) oversees safety standards, mandating that employers ensure work equipment is safe through regular inspections and maintenance, and maintain records of these activities. Both regions emphasize the importance of documentation and adherence to safety regulations, with enforcement agencies conducting inspections to ensure compliance

Does your company handle the loading and unloading of trailers and sea containers?
Are you familiar with the NIOSH method? It’s a measurement technique used to determine the maximum weight a worker can safely lift in a single attempt. The Dutch Labour Inspectorate (Inspectie SZW) uses this method to evaluate physical lifting loads.
The ergonomic systems of pewiSYS make unloading containers easier for your employees. This can be achieved through the use of a semi-automatic unloading system or by utilizing individual roller conveyors.
